  • Image described variously as either:
"The entry of the Friday Morning Club for the La Fiesta de Los Angeles... Ladies flower decorated Phaeton, driven by Miss Elizabeth Fremont, with Mrs. Rebecca Douglass Lowe, President of the State Women's Parliment." (May 1902);
or:
"L.A. Fiesta -- 1st -- 1897 -- Daisy Bell (Mrs. Charles Parshal Overton) driving Lillian Bell (Mrs. John Grey) at right... Daughters of Major Horace Bell -- L.A. Fiesta Queen -- Mrs. Modini Wood -- Phaeton decorated with white roses, sewed to white cloth -- won 1st prize of $25.00 and blue banner." (from a letter written by Mrs. Overton, 18 January 1950).
