Description
English: Radar image of Hurricane Matthew at 10:48 a.m. EDT (14:48 UTC) on 8 October 2016, roughly at the time of landfall. At 11:00 a.m. EDT (15:00 UTC), the National Hurricane Center said the center of circulation had made landfall, but did not specify the exact time. "Aircraft reconnaissance and land-based radar data indicate that the center of circulation has crossed the coast of South Carolina near the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge." ([1]) The band of rain in eastern West Virginia, the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Western Maryland and extending into Pennsylvania is associated with a cold front and is not a part of Hurricane Matthew.
