English: Milan: detail of the monument to Roman emperor Constantine I, in front of San Lorenzo Maggiore basilica. Constantine, by means of "Edict of Milan" (Milan was then the capital of the Roman empire), granted in 313 freedom of worship to Christians. This bronze statue is a modern copy of a Roman statue now in Rome, at the Laterano. Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, February 27 2007.
