English: An illustration by Harold Piffard of Sara Crewe (left) and Becky (right) in A Little Princess (Frederick Warne & Co., 1905). Sara Crewe, wearing a black dress, sits on a footstool or bo and covers her face with her right hand, in sadness. Over her lap is a doll, identified in the novel as Emily. On the right is Becky, in a white dress, who kneels and holds Sara Crewe's hand. They are in an attic bedroom: behind them is are a bed and a small table with cups. Above them is a window in the attic ceiling; the character Ram Dass appears to be visible outside the window. In the book it is captioned, "Becky ran to her and caught her hand, and hugged it to her breast, kneeling beside her."
