. Copying of text started 1649 by Mahatma Hirananda in Jagat Singh's court studio at Udaipur and completed in the first year of the reign of Jagat Singh's successor Maharana Raj Singh (1652–1680). Internal evidence suggests the paintings in the book were completed before the copying of the text.

Author Unknown studio master. Book was commissioned by Maharana Jagat Singh (1628–1652), the ruler of Mewar, now part of Rajasthan, western India, with illustrations by three studio masters.
