TUDDENHAM, Alice Calder, a member of the General Board of theY. W. M. I. A., was born March 5,1875, in Salt Lake City, Utah, thedaughter of William Calder. She re-ceived her education in the privateschool of Camilla Cobb and the Uni-versity of Utah. Being gifted in musicshe served as a member of the Tab-ernacle choir under Prof. Evan Ste-phens for many years. She was activein the Y. L. M. I. A. of the 21st Wardas music director, secretary andcounselor. In 1898 she was called toact as music dii*ector for the GeneralBoard. In 1900 she was married toWilliam J. Tuddenham and became themother of four children. She assistedin the preparation of a special songbook for the Y. L. M. I. A. VAN NOY, Elsie Hogan, generalsecretary of the Y. W. M. I. Universityand the Business College; began herChurch activities at the age of thir-teen, teaching in the Sunday Schooland the Primary, and later in the Y.L. M. I. A. In 1923-1925 she filled amission to California, where she wascorresponding secretary and missionsupervisor of the Y. L. M. I. A. andthe Primary Association. She wascalled to the General Board in April,1927, and appointed general secretaryof the Y. L. M. I. A. by Pres. RuthMay Fox in September, 1929. Shehas been active in civic organizations,having taught Red Cross First Aid atthe Lion House Social Center for thepast three years. On June 28, 1935,she was married to William Ray VanNoy, and has the privilege of helpingto rear his three children, Spencer R.,Lynn C, and Colleen Van Noy.
