Text Appearing After Image: to Utah in 1847, and his mother, withher parents, arrived in the ValleySept. 24, 1848. When but one yearof age his parents moved to Paris,Bear Lake Co., Idaho, where they re-sided until Sept. 14, 1877, when thefamily migrated to Arizona, locatingat Mesa. He drove his mothers teammost of the entire distance, and other-wise did his full share in that memor-able journey. . Bro. Pomeroy was bap-tized in 1871 by Thomas Sleight inParis. In the building of the MesaCanal, though only 15 years of age,he received credit for a mans fullwage, because he earned it by doinga mans part. Through all the hard-ships usually endured in settling anew country, building canals, roads,homes, clearing, fencing and farmingthe land, and in freighting, workingin the harvest fields, etc., he also dida mans full part, aiding materially insupplying the necessaries of life forthe family.
