Text Appearing Before Image: ring a lion, and haslittle, if any, historic value. The old sculpture which the mon-arch caused to be obliterated in order to afford a space forhis own picture was really a historic one and dated back toSasanian times. Fortunately it had been sketched by Morier(1809), W.
