They ar-rived in Salt Lake City Sept. 1, 1860.The family settled at Wellsville, a re-cently settled locality in Cache Coun-ty. Here Bro. Salisbury erected a loghouse and Sister Salisbury became as-sociated with the Relief Society, overwhich she presided for eighteen years.She was beloved by all her co-workers.She became the mother of eight morechildren and also reared a motherlessbabe for some time. She mothered fourdifferent families of children, 19 inall. Sister Salisbury died in Salt LakeCity July 19, 1918, at the age of 89years. Interment took place in Wells-ville. SALISBURY, Joshua, one of theearly pioneer settlers of Wellsville,Cache County, Utah, was born June3, 1827, in Llanasa, Flintshire, Wales, 764 LATTER-DAY SAINT a son of Thomas Salisbury and SarahJones. In June, 1850,at Llanasa, Wales, he married MarthaDavies who bore him two children.Being deeply impressed with the fur-ther light and knowledge receivedfrom the teachings of the restoredgospel he earnestly endeavoied to con-vert his fellow workers in the coalmines, but met with great persecutionas a result. In 1855, with his wife andtwo children, Bro. Salisbury left hisnative land for America. The familyspent five years on the frontiers be-fore crossing the plains and mountainsfrom the Missouri River to Utah.While passing through Illinois Bro.Salisburys wife died at St. Johns,Perry Co., 111., in 1857, and on Oct.13, 1858, he married Elizabeth Hos-kin (daughter of James Hoskin andElizabeth Hancock).
