Vue d'ensemble de l'immeuble art nouveau au n°4 rue Alberta à Riga Cet immeuble de style art nouveau (jugendstil) a été conçu par l'architecte Mikhail Eisenstein (1867-1921) au tout début du 20ème siècle. Il est situé au n°4 de la rue Alberta (Alberta Iela) Ce bâtiment est considéré comme le chef d’œuvre de l'architecte. Il est en effet plus équilibré et épuré que la plupart de ses réalisations dont les décors sont souvent surchargés. Les balcons en fer forgé sont remarquables, ils se rapprochent en effet du style Sécession viennois et leur transparence allège la façade dont les décors les plus sophistiqués sont dans les parties hautes ou basses. NDLR : le ministère de la culture letton devrait se préoccuper de faire enterrer les fils électriques qui dans la rue Alberta, comme partout dans Riga, dénaturent le patrimoine architectural art nouveau. Sur cette photographie, j'ai supprimé un grand nombre de fils avec Photoshop (au moins 1/4h de travail), j'en ai laissé un seul qui demande trop de travail pour le supprimer. _________ Riga, capitale de la Lettonie, est un parfait exemple de ville Art Nouveau. Son centre abrite la plus belle concentration de bâtiments Art nouveau au monde: plus d'un tiers d'entre eux appartiennent en effet à ce style.
