| Description | Increase C. Bosworth House in the Dundee Township Historic District in West Dundee (c. 1845, remodeled c. 1885). He was one of Dundee's first merchants and land speculators, arriving in 1838. The first Bosworth store was probably built on this site. Bosworth's farm outside of town later became the Country Tea Room. Bosworth was also president of the First National Bank in Elgin. He was on the board of trustees at the University of Chicago and the Northern Hospital for the Insane. He was an Alderman and Supervisor in Elgin. |
