Summary edit

Description

A typical well-cared for local shrine in Mamallapuram. One of the most fascinating aspects of the Hindu religion is its freedom and diversity of worship so while many will erect and pilgrim to giant, sky-reaching temples, there will also be a thousand small shrines and alcoves scattered everywhere. And each is as well taken care of and meticulously arranged as the biggest temples.

This one is to Ganesh in the centre. Beyond that my understanding of the vast complexities and diversities of Hinduism is still fledgling and unreilable.
