English: Video 2 – Metamorphosing y-cyprid. Three phases in the metamorphosis of a single y-larva individual. The first phase shows the ypsigon about to escape, but with the posterior part of its body still located within the shell of the spent y-cyprid. The next phase shows the actual exit of the ypsigon from the y-cyprid. The third phase shows the free ypsigon shortly afterwards, when it has moved some distance away from the spent y-cyprid. |
