English: Infield of abandoned settlement of Glendrian The image shows the infield (inner cultivated land) associated with the abandoned settlement of Glendrian. These days the area is used for grazing sheep, but the old dyke which in the past would have prevented the cattle from entering the cultivated area is still visible along the higher ground in the mid-distance.

As with many of these settlements in Scotland, although abandoned for a century or more, the old cultivated land shows as green clear area of grass unlike the surrounding scrubby heather covered areas.

The higher ground in the mid-distance is one of the inner rings of the ring-dyke formed from the remains of the extinct volcano with which this is associated. In the distance the higher ground of one of the outer rings is visible.
