JAMES Mclaughlin LENGTH OF SERVICE, 56 YEARS 7 MONTHS James McLaughlin was placed on the Roilof Honor August 1, 1916, after a term of ser-vice of most unusual length in the employ of thePennsylvania Railroad. He was born at Bally-castle, County Mayo, Ireland, July 15, 1846.He came to America at the age of 14 years andwas employed as Water Boy on the Camden andAmboy, now part of the Pennsylvania Railroad,in 1860. Since that time he has been BlacksmithHelper, Watchman and Trackman. The Camden and Amboy was largely con-structed by Irish labor and was maintained byIrish Trackmen for a number of years. Mr.McLaughlin is the last survivor of this generationof workmen oi thi pioneer days. The last of hiscontemporaries, James Oraley, Patrick Sweeneyand Daniil Birmingham, passed away some yearsago. Mr. McLaughlin lives at Bordentovvn, N. J.,wiiere he has acquired considerable property inhis many years of industry and thrift.
