Description

Ingrid Laubrock is een saxofoniste van de meest avontuurlijke soort. Ze stroomde door van Duitsland naar Londen en vond uiteindelijk haar natuurlijke omgeving in Brooklyn, waar ze Anti-House oprichtte. Hierin improviseert ze op tenor- en sopraansax naast haar favoriete musici uit New York, toonaangevende figuren uit de downtown-scene die zelf ook regelmatig in het Bimhuis optreden met hun eigen bands.

Als tenor- en sopraansaxofonist heeft Ingrid Laubrock het talent om tegelijk kalm en dominant te klinken, en zoekt ze bewust naar de spanning tussen doordachte composities en heftige improvisaties.
