English: Inner ditch, Figsbury Rings Most of the archaeological work carried out at Figsbury was undertaken by Ben and Maud Cunnington. Maud Cunnington suggested that the construction material for the rampart came from the internal ditch. The internal ditch is a regular distance inside the bank and Cunnington's excavations demonstrated that the material in this ditch matches that in the bank. |
