Summary edit

Description
English: Interior of St Botolph, Boston Effigy of a knight. An early 14th century alabaster tomb divided by buttresses into four panels, each carved with an angel under a crocketed ogee arch. On the tomb lies this knight in armour, with a Maltese cross around his neck, which indicates that he belonged to the order of St John of Jerusalem. The tomb was reputedly removed from St John’s church when it was pulled down in 1625 and erected at the east end of the north aisle and then moved to its current position in the 18th century.
