Deutsch: Nur 20 Meter Fußstrecke führten von der dichten Nebelsuppe heraus in die klare Sicht: man blickt ostwärts auf den Vaalserberg. Sichtbar ist der Balduin-Turm an Dreiländereck BRD/NL/BE.

Der Nebel erstreckte sich weiträumig, mindestens vom niederländischen Tal des Flüsschens Geul über den belgischen Ort Sippenaeken bis hin ins belgische Gemmenich. Die Aufnahme entstand gegen viertel vor fünf Uhr am späten Nachmittag.

Über eine Rad-Wanderstrecke von gut 20 Kilometern war der Photograph vollständig in dicken kalten Nebel gehüllt. An keiner Stelle der Tour war der blaue Himmel sichtbar. Dann, plötzlich, beim Aufstieg Richtung Grenze NL/BE am Vaalsberg genügten 20 Meter und plötzlich weitete sich die Sicht auf die Landschaft.
