  • Significance: As the primary outbuilding of the Isaac A. Packer Farm, the barn, built in 1905, greatly contributes to the character and integrity of the late-19th century/early-20th century farm complex. The Packer barn, measuring 50' by 40', is a two-story frame Pennsylvania, or bank, barn, design, consisting of a ramp and a cantilevered forebay. This design allowed ground-floor access, via the ramp, to the upper floor, where grain storage was located. Livestock was kept on the lower floor. While other barns of this type exist in the Woodward Township area, the Packer barn is unique because, for the most part, it has retained its architectural integrity and is part of a larger, intact historic agricultural complex.
