English: The actor Nakamura Fukusuke I in the role of Otomo Kuronushi. The murderer Kuronushi sees a reflection of the stars in the sake bowl he holds in his hands. He takes the reflection to mean that he should build a temple using the wood of the cherry tree that stands beside him. Subsequently, the spirit of the cherry tree overcomes Kuronushi. |
