Description

(looking downstream)

The angular boulders beyond the pool are a mix of limestone, cherty limestone, and mudshales. The carbonates are derived from adjacent outcrops of the Brush Creek Limestone (Glenshaw Formation, lower Conemaugh Group, Missourian Series, lower Upper Pennsylvanian). The shales are from outcrops just below the Brush Creek Limestone.

Locality: Island Run (at low flow), just downstream from Helmick Bridge (Helmic Bridge), southwest of the town of Eagleport, northwestern Morgan County, eastern Ohio, USA
