באי הזה הסתתרו יהודים במלחמת העולם השניה ונצלו על ידי דייגים מידי הגרמנים כשהוסעו בסירות בחשכת אחד הלילות לקווים של בנות הברית בדרומו של האגם. ממצילי היהודים נותר אוגוסטינו פיאצזי הקשיש שחי באי. אנו פגשנו אותו באי וזה סיפורו. הוא היה אז בן 19. מספר היהודים שהגיעו לאי ב- 1944 היה 30. והיהודים הוחבאו בארמון שהיה מוזנח בו. מרגע שהגיעו לאי יכלו לסמוך על הגנת אנשי האי, שהיו במורל אנטי גרמני. הגרמנים חנו בצפון האגם ובנות הברית חנו בדרומו. כשהחזית התקרבה לאי הגרמנים נכנסו לאי ומתוך עצבנות ירו באנשים. הדאגה לגורל היהודים גברה חששו לגורל היהודים. הכומר של האי הציע לדייגים להבריח את היהודים לדרום האגם לאיזור בנות הברית. כמה דייגים צעירים שהוא אחד מהם. השכיבו את היהודים בתחתית חמש סירות לאזור הבריטים. קבלת הפנים על ידי האנגלים היתה מרגשת. היהודים פרצו מן הסירות וצעקו לאנגלים "שיחרור" "שיחרור".
