Summary edit

Description Mirabilis multiflora var. pubescens—Colorado four o'clock. The species is mative to southwestern United States and northern Mexico, including Baja California. The purple to magenta "flower petals" are really fused sepals. The entire flower (there may be as many as six) grows within the tube. While difficult to grow, this four o'clock makes a great display plant for xeriscapes. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
