Sign Jack Robbins Clothes of Distinction 5613 W Belmont Chicago, IL Status: Removed after a fire on 10/18/2009. Small story: I recently bought a new suit from a prim and stylish older gentleman in Schaumburg who once worked at this Jack Robbins store alongside one of the remaining Robbins sons (or grandsons). He's the sort of brisk and confident salesman you don't see anymore. He would flick your seams, buss your shoulders, step back and then tut-tut and practically rip the coat from your back when he wasn't satisfied with the look. You could not find a more attentive, respectful but no-nonsense arbiter of masculine fashion this side of the twentieth century. |
