Description
Nederlands: Jacob Trip, 84 jaar oud, stamvader van een van de belangrijkste handelsfamilies van Holland, rijk geworden in de internationale wapenhandel. Hij woonde in Dordrecht waar hij Nicolaes Maes opdracht gaf voor dit portret. Maes was een Dordtenaar, maar woonde enige jaren in Amsterdam, waar hij in de leer ging bij Rembrandt.
