Description

A maharaja's pot for the Gangajal (Holy Water from Ganges river). It was said he took it when traveling to England. Hindus consider the waters of the Ganges to be both pure and purifying.

As <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/07/25/what-it-takes-to-clean-the-ganges" rel="nofollow">American newspaper</a> reports: "In 1615, Nicholas Withington, one of the earliest English travellers in India, wrote that water from the Ganges >>will never stinke, though kepte never so longe, neyther will anye wormes or vermine breede therein.<<"
