| Description | Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano reaffirmed strong U.S. Israeli ties by her visit May 20-22. The Secretary signed a pilot program to bring Israel into the Global Entry system, allowing expedited processing for Israelis traveling to the U.S. During her visit, she saw examples of Israeli acumen in crime scene investigation, explosives detection, and the application of high tech to security, particularly in the cyber world. The Secretary also spoke to students and faculty at IDC in Herzliya on the connection between security and economic activity, and noted that the U.S. has learned from Israel’s practices in security and hopes to continue to do so. |
