Description
Simple English: Building in Shanghai.
中文:日本人俱乐部 塘沽路309号。俱乐部坐南朝北,4层钢筋水泥结构,占地约2660平方米,建筑面积4000余平方米。底层是酒吧、球场,2楼是餐厅,3楼为剧场,4楼为旅舍,是当时在沪日本人的主要的集会、社交场所。上海日本人实业协会、商业会所,曾设在此处。1932年“一·二八”战争前夕,在日本军国主义分子煽动和操纵下,旅沪日本侨民借口抗议“排日”运动,在此集会。会后,在日本海军陆战队武装保护下,上街游行示威。游行中捣毁了北四川路(现四川北路)一带贴有“抵制日货,爱用国货”标语的中国商店。1945年抗战胜利后,房屋为国民政府接收,改作市民政局、上海市参议会用房。解放初期,虹口区人民政府曾设在此处。
