Description
Simple English: Building in Shanghai.
中文：日本人俱乐部 塘沽路309号。俱乐部坐南朝北，4层钢筋水泥结构，占地约2660平方米，建筑面积4000余平方米。底层是酒吧、球场，2楼是餐厅，3楼为剧场，4楼为旅舍，是当时在沪日本人的主要的集会、社交场所。上海日本人实业协会、商业会所，曾设在此处。1932年“一·二八”战争前夕，在日本军国主义分子煽动和操纵下，旅沪日本侨民借口抗议“排日”运动，在此集会。会后，在日本海军陆战队武装保护下，上街游行示威。游行中捣毁了北四川路（现四川北路）一带贴有“抵制日货，爱用国货”标语的中国商店。1945年抗战胜利后，房屋为国民政府接收，改作市民政局、上海市参议会用房。解放初期，虹口区人民政府曾设在此处。
