12 March 2012 - California, United States XvolutionMedia.com Rowley takes on Mavericks Left Hander California for the first time on 12 March 2012! Rowley takes on Mavericks California Left Hander for the first time! Rowley flew in from Maui, Hawaii where the winter surf season shows all signs of being dead for a chance to test the waters at California’s premier big wave spot, Mavericks. In less than XXL conditions, Rowley and a small crew of Mavericks regulars enjoyed a morning of light winds and uncrowded waves. Rowley says, “Greg [Long] called me early and told me there is a few waves out there and we might have an hour before the onshore wind comes up”. Fortunately, conditions stayed glassy to light offshore until midday and Rowley and Co enjoyed the uncrowded session. “The water was so icy cold, the waves are powerful - it was just me, a handful of great local surfers and a couple of seals, classic day”.
