Description
English: Jennie Frankel in foreground and Terrie Frankel to her left, 8 years old in 1958, at a schoolmate's piano in Chicago's North Side. The twins merely posed in front of this piano. Their father, David Frankle refused to allow the twins to learn the piano - rather he insisted they play accordions, his reasoning was, "You can't carry a piano around with you." He also had a fascination with accordionists Dick Contino and Myron Floren (Lawrence Welk fame). The twins were given 10 years of accordion lessons, from the ages of 6 to 16. Terrie later studied piano at Chicago Music College of Roosevelt University.
