Description
Español: Presbítero Jesús María Marulanda Arango (nació en Sonsón el 8 de diciembre de 1850 y falleció en Medellín el 19 de octubre de 1936). Estudió en el seminario de Medellín. Fue ordenado sacerdote en Medellín el 20 de diciembre de 1874 por el obispo Isaza. En sus setenta y dos años de sacerdocio, desempeño varios cargos en la diócesis, tales como Prefecto General y Vicerrector del Seminario, profesor de moral desde 1888, casi hasta su muerte. Cura de Guarne, ganó el curato de Medellín en 1887. Fue nombrado canónigo el 15 de febrero de 1893. Vicario General y Provisor del obispado el 10 de enero de 1899 y Deán del Capítulo el 29 de abril del mismo año. El Arzobispo Caicedo lo nombró Vicario General y Provisor el 10 de abril de 1907. El 12 de octubre de 1917 fue nombrado Prelado Domestico. Desde 1891 fue encargado de la construcción de la nueva Catedral de Medellín, de la que fue alma y vida. Fue el ultimo cura de La Candelaria nombrado por concurso.
