Description
Born in Danish-speaking North Schleswig, Ebbesen was drafted to the German Army in March 1916 and served on the Western Front until the end of the First World War. He wrote on the verso (in Danish) that the German troops held their fire after the crash to allow for the pilot's comrades to take a photo of the site.
