Snow Hampers Funerals in Vicinity of Turbotville. Heavy snowfall of Wednesday and Thursday caused two funerals to be held in the Turbotville region under difficult conditions. That of William H. Disher was set for 11 o'clock but it was 12:30 before all the relatives were able to reach the house through the deep snow. In going to the cemetery, automobiles had to be abandoned, and bob-sleds were used. The funeral of John J. Lindauer, the last of the veterans of the Civil War in that locality, was held immediately afterwards and three hours were consumed in getting from the state road to Turbotville. Bob-sleds were obtained at Turbotville to reach the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. C. Frey, where the funeral was held. Returning from the second funeral the rear axle of the hearse gave way and a message was sent to Watsontown to secure a new axle which was sent by automobile as far as the machine was able to get through and carried by hand the rest of the way.
