Summary edit

Description
English: Johnstounburn House Doocot. In the park near Johnstounburn House is a large double lectern type dovecot. There are two dormers in the roof, each with fifteen entry holes. The gables are ornamental, of early 18th century type, but it is likely that other details such as the two glazed half dormers in the south wall were added a century later. This dovecot is inscribed 'JB 1730'. Internally, there are two floors and a central round pillar lined with nest boxes like the walls with about 2,000 stone nests.
