Description
English: Joseph Henry, Pathfinder in Science - a monument in Academy Park In front of the Albany Academy Building, Albany, New York, USA. Sculptor: John Flanagan, 1865-1952. Created in 1927. Smithsonian SIRIS Control Number: IAS NY000638, with description "Joseph Henry as a young man stands holding an electromagnetic device in his proper left hand. He appears to be conducting an experiment. He stands next to a bench with a coat and hat thrown over it. Henry wears a buttoned vest and open jacket. The sculpture is mounted on a concave-shaped, tiered base. The sculpture is placed on the central, pedestal-like section which is flanked on either side by two lower panels that end in benches". This artwork is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1923 and 1963, with its copyright not renewed.
