I have used these film holders since1917 and have found them entirelysatisfactory in every case where lowerteeth areas were radiographed. 245 r CASE R^E P O R/T S T v/—>^—^ Benign Spastic Stricture of Sigmoid CPASMODIC stricture of the lowerbowel, particularly of the sigmoidand rectum, has been much discussed,the majority of observers believing thatspasmodic narrowing associated withtrue muscular hypertrophy never oc-curs. The following case report shouldtherefore be of interest. Mr. J. B., aged sixty-two, enteredthe Methodist Hospital of IndianapolisDecember 9, 1921. on the service ofDr. H. K. Turner. He complained ofconstipation beginning three monthspreviously, two to seven days elapsingbetween bowel movements. Upon en-trance, a week had passed without abowel movement. Vomiting had oc-curred several times, especially aftertaking cathartics. He had lost fifteenpounds in weight. No other pertinentinformation was elicited. He was apparently in no discom-fort.
