Description
English: NASA astronaut Peggy A. Whitson, Expedition 16 commander; and cosmonaut Yuri I. Malenchenko, Soyuz commander and flight engineer representing Russia's Federal Space Agency, receive a traditional blessing from a Russian Orthodox priest in their Cosmonaut Hotel crew quarters in Baikonur, Kazakhstan, before departing for the launch pad. Whitson, Malenchenko and Malaysian spaceflight participant Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor (out of frame) were launched on a Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft to the International Space Station at 8:22 a.m. (CDT) on Oct. 10. They will dock to the station on Oct. 12.
