Español: Portada del libro "Idea de perfección y virtudes", publicado por fray Juan Bernique (O.F.M.) en 1693, en Alcalá de Henares (Comunidad de Madrid - España). Es una biografía sobre su madre, la beata Catalina de Jesús y San Francisco (nombre civil: Catalina García Fernández). Catalina quedó huérfana de madre con 5 meses de edad. Se encargó de criarla su tía María Fernández, impresora de la Universidad de Alcalá. La casó, con 15 años de edad, con el médico "cuarentón" Juan Bernique, que ejercía en Torrejón de Ardoz. Con el que tuvo dos hijas y un niño. Catalina, tras enviudar a los 22 años de edad, vistió los hábitos de la Tercera Orden de San Francisco y fundó el "Colegio de las Doncellas Pobres de Santa Clara" en Alcalá de Henares. donde falleció el 7 de noviembre de 1677. |
