English: Jules Monge, (1855-1934) Portrait du peintre Monticelli, private collection. Oil on panel. Signed on the right and dedicated, "à mon ami Monticelli." 46 x 32 cm. A painter born in Marseilles, Jules Monge was Monticelli's friend and familiar during the last years of the latter's life. Another portrait by Monge of Monticelli shown with a painting under his arm, dated 1883, is kept at the Musée d'Orsay.
