Description

For the 2012 National Lakes Assessment, Ryan Pack of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (left) drops a rake-like device into Hulls Lake in West Virginia to collect and assess plants that can grow above or below the water, known as aquatic macrophytes. The abundance and type of these plants can a wide range of adverse effects on a lake’s health. Jason Morgan of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (right) and Frank Borsuk of EPA assist.
