English: Juliette masturbates herſelf, leaning on the Edge of a Bed; Justine, ſtanding beſide her, averts her Eyes. Over the Door in the Background is a picture ſhewing Jeſus fallen under the Croſs; the Eye of Providence next to it is cropped. Engraving from La Nouvelle Justine ou Les Malheurs de la Vertu, ſuivie de l’Hiſtoire de Juliette, ſa Sœur by Donatien Alphonſe François, Marquis de Sade, Holland 1797 (actually publiſhed 1799 at Paris).
