DescriptionJuxilyocypris schwarzbachi Ostracoda RV Female Male Stereo SEM.jpg |
English: Crustacea, Ostracoda: View at the external side of right valves of Juxilyocypris schwarzbachi (Kempf, 1967) Kempf, 2011. Length of female shell (above) = 0.85 mm, length of male shell (below) = 0.80 mm. Illustrated species reveals strong sexual shell dimorphism. The images are scanning electron micrographs (SEM), taken and arranged to form stereo-pairs, a kind of producing stereoscopic images. Try to see the objects three-dimensionally without special spectacles!
The specimens were found in presumably cold-water Middle Pleistocene loess sediments, collected in clay pit Kaerlich near Koblenz, Germany. |
