Description

Two U.S. Marine Corps Lockheed KC-130F Hercules (BuNo 147572, 148248) from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport VMGR-152 at Royal Thai Air Base Nam Phong. During the bombing campaign in Cambodia from June 1972 to September 1973, VMGR-152 provided aerial refueling to aircraft of the Marine Aircraft Group 15, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, by flying a 4-plane formation in a reacetrack pattern over Tonle Sap, using the Angkor Wat ruins as a rendezvous point with Marine F-4 Phantom fighter-bombers.

The KC-130F's were the 1st and 4th production aircraft. 147572 made its first flight on 22 January 1960. Both aircraft were retired in 2004.
