In the early 1900s one of the performing troupe's leaders unexpectedly died in Echizen city and so the owner of their lodgings secured a funeral and resting place for him at the Pure Land Buddhist temple of Daiho-ji, pictured here. Thus in commemoration the groups performs there without fail every summer. Panorama photos merged with autostitch.
