Description
Shqip: Ndertimi i ketij monumenti fillon qe ne periudhen ilire (shek IV para kr.).

Gjatë periudhës romake ajo ka shërbyer si një akropol për qytetin, që shtrihej rrëzë shpatit jugor të kodrës. Gjatë mesjetës ne Shkoder here pas here alternohej sundimi sundimi bizantin me atë sllav deri më 1335, kur u zotërua nga Balshajt, të cilët e mbajtën nën sundimin e tyre deri në vitin 1396 kur ia dorëzuan Venecianeve te cilet bene ndertime fortifikuese te rendesishme qe gjenden edhe sot. Muret e kalasë Rozafat te cilet ndjekin formën e terrenit, jane të ngritura mbi majën e një kodre shkëmbore te rrethuar nga tri anet me lumej. Sipërfaqja e brendshme e kalasë (3.5 ha) përbëhet nga tri pjesë të fortifikuara (oborre), të cilat komunikonin me porta midis tyre. Objekti kryesor këtu është Kapiteneria, një godinë trekatëshe e kohës veneciane, e trajtuar në mënyrë monumentale.

Përveç hyrjes kryesore, kalaja ka dhe disa hyrje të vogla të dorës së dytë, të cilat shërbenin për manovrimin e forcave në raste rrethimi apo si dalje sekrete.
