Summary edit

Description
English: Isolation cell at the Karlsten Fortress prison. In the 1660s, this fortress was founded and soon became also a prison. In the 1700s, motivated by theories from America, the prison experinemted with totally isolating two prisoners for 5 years, giving them possibility to reflect and repent on their crime. After release, one inmate died immediately while the other was psychotic for the one year he still lived.
