English: Frequency of first digits in votes for Mehdi Karroubi in the 2009 Iranian presidential election according to the Iranian Ministry of Interior, compared to the expected distribution based on a standard and an empirical form of Benford's Law. The information content is equivalent to that of Figure 6 in http://arXiv.org/abs/0906.2789v2, but the particular style of presentation is different. This figure may be useful for the article 2009 Iranian presidential election.
The data in the table are (or were) available from the Iranian Ministry of Interior at http://www.moi.ir/ostan.xls, and should remain archived at https://www.webcitation.org/5hYWBcT7w. What is surprising is that the number of occurrences of the first digit 7 is much higher than is expected. |
