Corner house. Plihál house. Around 1868, the Tschirtz House/wheelwright blacksmith and carriage manufacturer's workshop was here. Later (in/before 1883) here was Hartmann's scale maker workshop. Ferenc Plihál bought it in 1883 and remodelled in 1884 and 1890s. Monument sign-plaque on its: ~~Plihál House, a house of local importance: Schirt's corner house was bought in 1883 by its expander, Ferenc Plihál, who joined the Hungarian Revolutionary Army in 1848 as a high school student. He was punished with ten years of soldiering, but he reached the court of chief servant. Then he became a judge, notary and president of the Beautification Society in Kanizsa. Mrs. Ferenc Plihál was the first president of the local 'Red Cross' Association, later one of the founders of the national organization, founded in 1881 as a women's association //The plaque was erected in 2006 on the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian Red Cross by the Municipal Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross - 5 Széchenyi Square = 1 Katona József Street, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary.

"Plihál-ház helyi jelentőségű ház a Schirt-féle sarokházat 1883-ban vette meg bővítője Plihál Ferenc, aki 1848-ban gimnazistaként állt 1848-as honvédnak. Tíz évnyi katonáskodással büntették mégis főszolgabíróságig jutott. Ezután Kanizsán lett bíró, közjegyző és a Szépítő Egylet elnöke. Plihál Ferencné az 1881-ben nőegyletként alakult helyi 'Veres Kereszt' Egylet - későbbi országos szervezet egyik alapítója - első elnöke volt // Az emléktáblát álllíttotta a 2006. esztendőben alapítása 125. évfordulóján Magyar Vöröskereszt Városi Szervezete" HELYI TERÜLETI VÉDELEM ALATT ÁLLÓ INGATLANOK JEGYZÉKében: "É-125, Katona J. u. 1., hrsz.: 2451, Plihál-ház, Utcai homlokzatok" - A tér sarkán álló (oromfalával a térre néző) alacsony házban működött – 1868-as adat szerint – Tschirtz (más források szerint Tschürtz) József bognár, kovács és kocsigyártó műhelye. Már 1845-ben is Kanizsán dolgozott és e házat birtokolta. 1883-ban műhelyében már Hartmann Ignác „mérleggyáros” tevékenykedett. Plihál előbb a Tschirtz-ház melletti házat vette meg majd 1883-ban a volt Tschirtz-házat is megvette az akkori tulajdonosoktól, a Hirschler testvérektől. A két épület közötti területet 1884-ben beépíttette, amivel kialakult a 3. számú ház mai tömege. (Udvari oldalán középső harmada valamikor emeletessé lett alakítva.) Ezt követte az 1890-es években a Katona József utca 1. szám alatt az új sarki rész és az eklektikus homlokzat kialakítása. Nem tudni pontosan, hogy a munkák során mi maradt meg Tschirtz József hajdani házából, amelynek helyén a mai épület délkeleti fele áll. Plihál Ferenc 1901-ben, élete 71. évében halt meg.
