DescriptionKelvin-Helmoltz instability in a pure antiproton plasma.png |
English: Kelvin-Helmoltz instability in a pure antimatter plasma. Antimatter can behave like a room temperature fluid: here, a picture of a ring-shaped plasma of antiprotons held in a particle trap while loosing its stability by creating vortices as a result of the Kelvin-Helmoltz instability. The picture is taken by letting the antiparticles annihilate on a microchannel plate with a camera. |
